Profiles Overview

Profiles are a key metadata tool in Chorum. Depending on its type, a profile can track many items like names, past and future stays, and revenue associated with individual or group bookings. Most properties use profile data to track booking trends, build targeted rewards programs to improve odds of repeat stays, and more, though the exact applications are entirely at your property's discretion.

Provided you have access to the module, it appears on the left-hand navigation menu. When open, the menu provides options for five types of profiles, summarized below. Click on the name of each profile for more information.

Guest Profiles

Guest profiles are automatically created any time a guest books with your property. The profile records the guest's information as well as any revenue generated from their collective stays.

Be mindful that guest profiles are subject to European GDPRClosed General Data Protection Regulation: A law originated from the European Union meant to provide individuals from the EU and EAA (European Economic Area) more control over their personal data and provides a series of mandates to follow. To learn more, we recommend visiting "https://www.eugdpr.org"! mandates if such regulations apply to your property's operations.

Sales Master Profiles

Used with group bookings, these profiles are useful for groups who frequent your property. They allow you to quickly create new contracts without needing to start from scratch each time.

Corporate Profiles

Corporate profiles are typically used to track business-related travel and the companies doing so frequently with your hotel. As an added benefit, if a company ever contracts a special rate with your property, it can be linked here for automatic use on bookings when applicable.

Travel Agent Profiles

A common resource for new bookings, travel agencies typically request a commission for their services. Building profile for each agency is necessary to track which agencies are booking your hotel most frequently, and how much may be owed to each organization.

Booker Profiles

Intended for use with corporate profiles, booker profiles are used to note specific individuals within a company or organization that may book your hotel on behalf of the company (secretaries, managers, etc).

Depending on whether you intend to add or modify a profile, each type of profile has been divided into the Add or Find category on the left-hand navigation choices. The add option, as it might imply, opens a new profile of the selected type for setup and configuration. The find option opens a search menu similar to the guest search menu, where you can use any identifying information you have available for the profile in question to search for and open it, then review and make changes to the profile as needed.
